Dark period

とうとう太陽は水平線の下へ沈んでしまいました。2ヶ月は太陽の姿を見ることができません。太陽自体は見えないけれど、光はまだお昼あたりにほの明るくみることができます。最近毎日雪が降っています。空の色が雪に反射して青の深さがとても魅力的です。おうちの色もしっくり風景に溶け込んでいます。午後の3時ごろ撮影。

The sun has gone down the horizon....and will come back in 2 months. But still we can see twilights for a few hours during day time. It has been snowing for the last couple of days, and the nasty icy slippery season is over. The blue of the sky reflects on the snow. The houses are totally blended into the scenery. I love this place!

beauty of lights!

日に日に日照時間が少なくなってきていますが、光の美しさにはいつも驚かされます。朝の10時頃撮影です。



昨晩のオーロラはすごかった。最初はほんの少しだけ見えていたのが、あっという間に360度オーロラに囲まれました。緑色の光線が激しく動く時にピンクの光線をともなって踊っていました。今日の夕方、、といっても午後3時頃ですが、日が沈んで青くなった空にまた白っぽいオーロラが広がっていました。

Last night, I was surrouded by the northern lights at 360 degree!!! The lights were dancing around the sky, changing colours and intensity. It was so special (It was on my birthday!!! Thank you for the amazing present).

Colors of lights

うちの部屋の窓から見える景色です。撮影時刻は朝の11時半頃です。11/21から2ヶ月間、太陽を見ることができません。近頃は日に日に暗くなってきてます。光の色の変わり具合が非常にドラマティックです。一日の短い時間の間にすさまじく変わります。

This is a picture taken from my window around 11:30am. The dramatic transition of lights surely adds a charm to this place. From 21/11, we won't see the sun for 2months. 24hours of night means more chances to see the northern lights!

Kvaløya

対岸の山へハイキングへ行きました。ノルウェー人は非常にハイキングが好きなようで、週末にはたいて家族で山へ出かけるそうです。道が凍っていて大変歩きにくいのですが、地元民は、こんな氷のはった山道をジョギングしたりしてます。


私のような氷に不慣れな外国人にはこれが必需品です。靴の上から装着するもので、取り外しが可能です。これをつけたまま建物の中歩いたら怒られます。

This beautiful mountain is on Kvaøya, a neighbouring island of Tromsøya. When I went hiking, some parts of the track were very icy. Not to mention, as a foreginer, I slipped on the ice and hurt my shoulder. That's why I bought the special equipment to put on my shoes.

Northern Lights!

お待たせしました。オーロラです。今日は夕方から急に冷え込んで、かなり光の具合が強いオーロラが見えました。次々とその見え方を変えるのでいつまで見てても飽きません。残念ながらカメラがあんましよくないので若干見えづらいかもですが、写真をクリックして大きくしてから目をこらしてみてみてください。

It may be hard to see, but I tried to capture the northern lights. On the night, the light was quite strong and moved around dramatically. It is really worth coming here to see the northern lights.

Snowman!

毎日雪が降り続き、家の玄関へ続く3段の階段も見えなくなってきました。風の吹き溜まりになっているところでは1m近く積もっています。こんなに大きな雪だるまをつくったのは初めてです。ちょっとぶっさいくでごめん。

It is amazing how fast we get so much snow. The picture is my future husband. Isn't he cute?

Winter has come!

2週間ほど留守にしている間にすっかりトロムソは冬化粧です。長い冬の始まりです。さらさら雪です。

I was so shocked when I came back here from south of France after 2weeks of vacation. Yeah, the winter has come!

Forest

北欧といえば、湖と森の国々というイメージがありますが、ここトロムソもその例にもれず、たくさんの森と湖があります。少し森を散策すると、真っ赤なベリーやブルーベリー、きのこに出会います。ブルーべりを摘んで食べながら歩いていると、口が紫になります。

Isn't this the typical image of Scandinavian countries? Forests, berries, mushrooms, and lakes etc... Tromso is famous for fjord, but we also have plenty of beautiful forests!

北極圏の街、ノルウェーのトロムソへやってきました。少しずつこちらでの生活を紹介できればと思います。
